Nevada (Hall) Elwood

Nevada Elwood, 92, of New Lexington, Ohio went to be with her Lord at 3:59am on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at FairHoPe Hospice-The Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born June 17, 1930, in Insull, Kentucky to the late Samuel Fairbanks and Mary Scott Hall.

Nevada was Protestant by faith; she loved her family, babies, flowers, shopping, The Ohio State Buckeyes, The Kentucky Wildcats, sitting on her porch swing, the Hallmark channel, observing wildlife, Sunday drives, black coffee, cooking and eating out; Nevada took tremendous pride in raising her family and she helped raise her siblings at a young age, she was extremely fair to all of her children; she woke up in a good mood and liked singing hymns. Nevada was an exemplary role model for her family and loved ones. 

Survived by her children, Peggy (John) O’Brien, Mary “Libby” Elwood (Dean Householder), Scott (Cynthia) Elwood and Sharon (Jason) Miller; grandchildren, Jason (Jackie) O’Brien and Brittany O’Brien; great-grandchildren, Logan O’Brien (Mykaela Powers), Montana O’Brien and Mauriana O’Brien; great-great-granddaughter, Oaklee June O’Brien; sisters, Sue Ann Miracle and Emma Lou Carmony; brother, Samuel Hall.

In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her husband, Sterling Jennings Elwood, son, Samuel Elwood and a brother, Marvis Lynn Hall.

Calling hours will be held from 1pm-2pm with funeral service at 2pm with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating on Friday, February 17, 2023, at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
