Richard “Dick” W. Tinto, 92, of New Lexington, died Friday, September 23, 2022, at Altercare of Somerset. He was born December 3, 1929, in Clover Hill, the son of William Tinto, Jr. and Louise P. (Larson) Tinto, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of New Lexington. He was married to his beloved wife of over 39 years, Barbara A. (Garner) Tinto who preceded him in death on April 30, 2015.
Dick served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Peabody Coal Company following over 40 years of service. He was a member of United Mine Workers Union, Local 1340, Operating Engineers, BOPE Lodge # 509, and Free & Accepted Masons New Lexington Lodge # 250.
Dick is survived by, two children, Steve Tinto and Vicky (Leonard) Benson; six step-children, Gloria (Mike) LeBeau, Beverly (Dan) Dubin, Mark (Anne) McGee, Jeff (Marissa) McGee, Brian (Lori) McGee and Marla (Dave) Moore; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Dorothy Tinto and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends from the Perry County Senior Center
In addition to his parents and wife, Dick was preceded in death by one son, Richard Tinto, II; two infant daughters, Tina Sue Tinto and Debbie Sue Tinto; one infant son, Jeffrey Scott Tinto and two sisters, Margaret Weinstock and Marjorie Foster.
In accordance with Dick’s wishes a caring cremation will take place. Family and friends are invited to attend Graveside Services at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 17, 2022, in New Lexington Cemetery with Reverend Emory Clark officiating.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by John Tague Post #188, American Legion, New Lexington. A reception dinner will follow the committal service at First United Methodist Church, New Lexington, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Perry County Senior Center in Dick’s memory.
