Richard D. Tipple, 92, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 11:30am on Monday, June 21, 2021 at SKLD, New Lexington, Ohio.
Born July 2, 1928 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Harry and Lenora Brotherion Tipple.
Dick was the center who played on the 1945 New Lexington High School Football Team that won the State Championship; United States Army Veteran of WW II; member of James E. Fisher Post #376, American Legion of Junction City; New Lexington Eagles #2070 and the First United Methodist Church of New Lexington; he was a retired heavy equipment operator and federal mine inspector; Past Master of New Lexington Lodge #250, F & AM; former New Lexington City Councilman; he liked to collect guns, fish and was a wheeler and dealer.
Survived by his wife of 73 years, Iris Fulk Tipple; daughter, Marcia (Tom) Bowman; grandchildren, Jennifer Tipple (Tim) Eshelman, Melissa Tipple and Nick Bowman; great-grandchildren, Aden Bowman, Madlyn Tipple, Camdyn Tipple and one of the way; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his son, Harry Tipple, infant daughter, Johnita Tipple; sister, Joann Hardy; brothers, Ralph (Mary) Tipple and Robert (Kay) Tipple.
Graveside Funeral Service and Burial will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, June 28, 2021 at New Lexington Cemetery, 440 Swigart Street, New Lexington, Ohio with Reverend Greg Inboden officiating. Military services by James E. Fisher Post #376, American Legion of Junction City, Ohio.
