Robert Gilligan

Robert “Bob” Michael Gilligan, 75, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Fairhope Hospice & Palliative Care in Lancaster.

Bob was born on March 24, 1948 in Junction City, Ohio, to the late Henry and Alice (Dumolt) Gilligan. Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who loved to make others laugh. He was a steady hand during difficult times and supported many charitable organizations, including the American Red Cross.

Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jane (Cannon) Gilligan and sons, Chad (Amy) Gilligan, Matthew (Emily Waters) Gilligan, David (Jennifer) Gilligan, and Ryan Gilligan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bayley Gilligan, McKenna Gilligan, and Genevieve Gilligan; his sisters, Martha Blosser and Betty (Tom) Russell; his brother, Bill Gilligan; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by siblings, Helen Sullivan, Gene Gilligan, Jim Gilligan, and Joe Gilligan.

The family will welcome friends and family from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Junction City, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 p.m. at the church followed by a reception at the American Legion in Junction City. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.
