Robert E. Hughes

Robert E. Hughes, 71, of New Lexington, formerly of New Straitsville, Ohio died at 11:15am on Monday, April 26, 2021 at Genesis Healthcare System in Zanesville, Ohio.

Born February 16, 1950 to the late Robert B. and Margaret E. Lantz Hughes.

Robert had a career in journalism; was a musician; loved sports especially baseball; he was the family historian and worked on our family tree; Methodist by faith and he had a deep and abiding Christian faith.

Survived by two nieces, Penny Riley and Christine Kier.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by a sister, Carole A. Robinson and a nephew, Mark David Robinson.

Graveside funeral service and burial will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Shawnee Cemetery with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating.
