Ronald M. Tucker

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021, Ronald M. Tucker “Tucker” passed away.

Ron was born on October 18, 1935 in East Union, Ohio to Hubert Tucker and Marjorie Paxton.

Ron had lived in a State Institution until 1979 when he became involved with Perry County Board of DD and filled this dream of living on his own with the support from Residential Incorporated.

Tucker worked at PERCO and then went on to Goodwill Industries, where he worked 40 hours a week at Roadside Rest on I-70 for nine years.  Tucker was named Employee of the year in 1988 by his co-workers. Since retiring, Ron spent his time at Rendville Art Works and the Let’s Center.  Ron was one of the first artists with the art program and was a sought-after artist. Tucker loved creating art by manipulating objects with his hands. Ron was a soft-spoken man that loved to work puzzles at home and putter around in his yard and garden, where he grew his own vegetables.  Ron enjoyed his date nights with his girlfriend, Becky and going to dinner and the movies. He loved going to the river aka “beach” and camping and fishing with his caretakers in the summer. Ron liked to work puzzles and listen to country music. He was an Atlanta Braves and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Ron was someone that you could always count on for a grin and a smile, because Tucker enjoyed his life.

Preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Tucker and Marjorie Paxton; two sisters, Carolyn Plyatt and Virginia Larrick.

Survived by three sisters, Linda Tucker, Kathleen Tucker and Shirley Miller; three brothers, Robert, Russell and Jerry Tucker; special friend, Becky Yoder.

Calling hours will be held from 11:00 am-1:00 pm and funeral service at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 12, 2021 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
