Ruth C. (Holcomb) Allen

Ruth C. Allen, 90, of Crooksville, Ohio died at 9:00pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Highland Oaks Healthcare Center in McConnelsville, Ohio.

Born June 28, 1932 in Crooksville, Ohio to the late Ross A. and Frances W. Schwartzel Holcomb.

Ruth was a homemaker and a farmer; member of the Oakfield Baptist Church; she loved gardening, singing in the choir with her sisters, “The Holcomb Sisters”; she was a very hard worker, where she bailed and stacked hay. She was an amazing Mother and Grandmother, who loved her family.

Survived by  her daughter, Lynette Newlon; son, Noel (Rebecca) Allen; grandchildren, Amber (Tim) Kennedy, Danielle Gensley, Chelsie Clutter, Kylie (Travis) Post and Alison Bray; several great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald R. Allen, brothers and sisters, Dorothy Holcomb, Bernard (Louella) Holcomb, Rodney (Bertha) Holcomb, F. Pauline (Rheuben) Shumaker  Margery (Rev. J. Brooks) Gregory, William (Elsie) Holcombe and Orma Mae Holcomb.

Calling hours will be held from 12 noon to 2:00pm with funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor John Kessler officiating on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at the Oakfield Baptist Church, 3530 State Route 13, SE, Crooksville, Ohio.

Burial will follow in Oakfield Cemetery.
