Timothy Dean Barnett, of New Lexington, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 15, 2024, at the age of 57.
Born on January 5, 1967, he was the cherished son of the late Ralph and Henrietta Barnett.
A proud graduate of New Lexington High School’s Class of 1985, Tim was widely admired for his strong work ethic and dedication to his lawn mowing business. His commitment to his craft and his community left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Tim’s greatest joy in life was his family. He leaves behind five beloved children: Katelyn (Adam) Dickerson, Journey (Shawn Kendrick) Barnett, Libby (Logan) Mohler, Cassy (Grey Bennett) Barnett, and Luke (Bailey Novaria) Barnett. He was also a loving grandfather to four young grandchildren—Lincoln, Callie, Ledger, and Lennox—who brought him immense pride and happiness. Tim is survived by his loving sister, Toni (Danny) Johnson; cousins who were more like siblings: Roger (Debbie) Hooper, Rick (Tina) Penrod, Randy (Diane) Penrod, Rod (Christie) Barnette, Randy Barnette, Rick (Shana) Barnette, Rob (Michelle) Barnette, and Debbie (Chris) Russell; and nephews Justin (Jackie) Johnson and Jason (Tracy) Johnson. He also leaves behind his best friend, Brick, and his loyal dog, Sarge.
Beyond his love for family, Tim had a passion for sports and competition. He enjoyed working out at New Dimensions and took great pride in maintaining his fitness and health. An avid collector of sports cards, he spent much of his free time watching basketball games or engaging in friendly matches of softball and bowling. His competitive spirit was infectious and brought joy to all who joined him in these activities. Tim also loved sharing time with family and entertaining them with wild stories that never failed to bring laughter. Known for being loud and fun-loving, he was truly the life of the party—there was never a dull moment when he was around.
Tim will be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, infectious laugh, and unwavering love for those closest to him. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
