Vinton Eugene Walters

Vinton Eugene Walters, 86, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 8:32 a.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Born July 28, 1936 in Lebanon, Indiana to the late Garry and Almira Lechleidner Walters.

Vinton was the owner and operator of Walters 5 & 10 in New Lexington and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.  He was a loving grandpa and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids.  He was also an avid bowler at Fiore’s and a golfer at Perry Country Club. Vinton loved fishing and went on many fishing trips to Wisconsin over the years. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing his garden produce with many friends and neighbors. 

Vinton is survived by his wife, Janet Kiener Walters; two sons, Rock Walters of Tampa, Florida and Kevin (Leasa) Walters of New Lexington, Ohio; two grandsons, Justin (Ashley) Walters of Pomeroy, Ohio and Jacob (Christine) Walters of Edmond, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Nicodemus, Grace, Paul (Briar) and a great granddaughter on the way; sister-in-law, Shirley Swope of Pennsylvania and brother-in-law, Tom Noon of Virginia. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte (Gary) McQuaid; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Pauline Noon; and brother-in-laws, Jerry Kiener and Jerry Swope.

A funeral service and burial will be held privately for family at New Lexington Cemetery at a later date.
