Virginia “Ginny” Dishon, 81, of New Lexington Ohio, passed away at her home, at 5:43 AM on Friday, June 16, 2023.
Virginia was born April 4, 1942, in Parkersburg, West Virginia to the late Leonard and Marie (Belyus) Massar.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was secretary for 15 years and also cooked many banquet and bazar dinners. She was the owner/operator of a grocery store. She was a member of Carnation Chapter #067,O.E.S. where she was a past Worthy Matron. She loved to travel, especially camping with her buddy. She was a wonderful Mother and she loved her grandbabies. She was also an avid Ohio State fan.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years; Howard Dishon, Daughters; Theresa Gilligan (Garry Cavinee), Karen (Dwane) Williams, Grandchildren; Mitchell (Cierra) Boring, Colin (Danielle) Gilligan, Carlene Pletcher, Great Grandchildren; Roslyn, Beau, Berkley and Ella, Sisters; Dorothy (Chuck) Lackey and Janet Prather, Brother ; George Massar, and her beloved dog; Abby.
A celebration of life will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 126 South High Street, New Lexington at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 30, with Reverend Greg Inboben officating. Lunch will follow the service at the church.
Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio, in charge of arrangements.
