Alston Charles, 81, of Crooksville, Ohio formerly of Goshen, Indiana died at 3:26pm on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born August 7, 1933 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Garland and Jane May Charles.
Mr. Charles was a retired press operator for Western Rubber.
Survived by step-children, James Billings, Richard Billings, Tom Billings, Sande Roose, Laura Kerkett and Penny Ball; 16 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Lesa Swank; special caregivers and granddaughters, Julie Ball and Traci Cosgrave; special sister-in-law, Sara Charles.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his wife, Laura Mabel Charles, December 9, 2010; brothers and sisters, Delphia Adkins, Gertrude Pratt, Hassell, Ed, George “Red”, Arnold “Big Baby”, Lester, Reford, Johnny and Bobby Gene Charles.
At his request, no calling hours or services will be held, cremation will take place.
Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio in charge of arrangements.
