Jack E. Shiplett

Jack E. Shiplett, 87, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 3:20pm on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at his home.

Born April 30, 1928 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late James and Thelma Rose Brown Shiplett.

Jack was a United States Air Force Veteran during the Korean Conflict; member of John Tague Post #188, American Legion, New Lexington, Ohio. He retired from Ohio Bell after 30 plus years of service; member of the First United Methodist Church of New Lexington; Carnation Chapter #167, O.E.S.; 65 year member of New Lexington Lodge #250, F & AM, Council and Chapter; Former Cub Scout Troop #256 and Weblows Leader; a CAPA Usher for 10 years and a retired associate of the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, New Lexington, Ohio.

Survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara J. Ryan Shiplett of the home; daughter, Rose (Doug) Sanderson of Plain City; son, John A. (Sherrie) Shiplett of Baltimore; 2 grandsons, Jonathan Bowers and Alex J. Shiplett; step-brother, Jim “Red Beard” Shiplett and step-sister, Dottie Mitchell.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm with American Legion services at 7:30pm, Eastern Star services at 7:45pm and Masonic Lodge services at 8:00pm on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the funeral home with Reverend Doug Widdowson officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion, New Lexington, Ohio.
