Lawrence W. Benson, 76, of Corning, Ohio (Portersville, Ohio) died at 10:15am on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home.
Born August 16, 1940 in New Milfield, Connecticut to the late Winfield and Myrtle Ayres Benson.
Larry was a United States Navy Veteran; he grew up in New Jersey and moved to Ohio in 1986; Larry’s passion was dirt track racing, he won several championships with his Modlite 8. An entrepreneur all his life, he created Larry’s Kids, a children’s hair salon in Dublin, Ohio in 1992 and was very successful for many years.
He leaves behind his wife, Maureen Benson; sister, Carol (Dick) McGowan; daughter and caregiver, Colleen Benson; son, Shawn (Natalie) Benson; daughter, Victoria; 3 grandchildren, Eli, Travis and Austin, niece, Terry; nephew, John (Mary) Bronner and many close friends.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by a son, Jason Benson.
At his request, no calling hours or services will be held.
