Wavalean R. (Dickerson) Shaner

Wavalean R. Shaner, 89, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 11:25pm on Friday, November 20, 2015 at the Pickering House, FairHoPe Hospice, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born July 2, 1926 in Bristol, Ohio to the late Frank and Vivian Spurbeck Dickerson.

Mrs. Shaner was a homemaker; member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Somerset; Methodist Women’s Fellowship in Rehoboth.

A loving Wife and Mother, survived by her husband of 70 years, Charles E. “Chuck” Shaner; 2 sons, Robert D. (Cheryl) Shaner of Lancaster and Steven J. (Katherine) Shaner of Powell; 3 granddaughters, Carey (Clark) Rebodeaux of St. Louis, MO., Emma Shaner and Claire Shaner of Powell; sister, Ada Hayes.

In addition to her parents, preceded in death by a son, Charles E. Shaner; brothers and sisters, Florabell Danielson, Helen Morrow, Floyd, Herman and Wilford Dickerson.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio and from 12noon-1pm on Wednesday at the church.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Grace Community Church of the Nazarene, 7945 Tunnel Hill Road, New Lexington, Ohio with Pastor Rolland Folk and Pastor Mike Queen officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
