William J. Jones

William J. Jones, 81, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 12:25pm on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born October 15, 1934 in Pennsboro, West Virginia to the late Raymond Calvin and Susanna Mae Dorsey Jones.

Mr. Jones was a retired machinist from Diamond Power after 35 years of service; member of the South Main Street Church of Christ; an avid hunter, gun and knife fanatic and he loved the Ohio State Buckeyes, both basketball and football.

Survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Jean Morgan Jones of the home; 3 children, Brenda (Ernie) Starling, Jeff (Diane) Jones and Susan (Steve) Anderson, all of New Lexington; 11 grandchildren, Wendy Huffman, Holly Posey, Heidi Starr, Jeremy Ellis, Jake Jones, Caleb Jones, Adam King, Kayla King, Dakota Quinn, Nevin Anderson and Trent Anderson; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by 2 sisters, Betty Middaugh Walker and Myrna North.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the South Main Street Church of Christ, 7 Smith Street, New Lexington, Ohio with Joshua Starr officiating.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
