Benjamin L. Lowder, Sr., 59 of New Lexington, Ohio, passed away at 10:17 am on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born September 22, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Howard Raymond and Mable Irene Myers Lowder.

Benjamin was a member of the Anchor Church of Zanesville; former Pastor of Rehoboth Apostolic Church; Maintenance Technician at Gahanna Lincoln School for 32 years and currently at Southern Local Schools, where he received 2015 Employee of the Year for Southeastern Ohio School District. 

Survived by his wife of 42 years, Melanie J. Knight Lowder of the home; son, Benjamin Lowder, Jr. of Gahanna; brother, Howard Raymond (Chris) Lowder; sister, Carolyn (George) Weaver.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by brothers and sister, Johnnie Williams, Larry Williams, Charles Williams, Jerry Williams and Ramona Cordray.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the funeral home with Bishop Aaron Bonds officiating.

Burial will be in Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
