Royce A. Cannon, 85, of New Lexington, Ohio died  Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born April 22, 1930 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Carl E. and Mary Grim Cannon.

Royce was the former owner and operator of Cannon’s Grocery; worked route sales for Wonder Bread/Hostess Cakes; regional sales manager for Archway Cookies and a retired associate of the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home.

Member of the First United Methodist Church of New Lexington; Masonic Lodge #250, F & AM; Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge; United States Korean War Veteran and a member of John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington.

Survived by his wife, Phyllis M. Gallagher Cannon of the home; children, Pamela K. (Doug) Snider of Somerset, Jon R. Cannon of Zanesville and Carl W. Cannon of Windermere, FL.;  5 grandchildren, Matthew (Jamie) Snider, Brandon (Kim) Snider, Wesley (Courtney) Snider, Lee Anne Cannon and Austin Cannon; 5 great-grandchildren, R.J., Luke, Brandon, Evan, James and Kelsey Snider; brothers and sisters, Alveda VanHorn, Arlene Ellis, Linda Williams, Dale Cannon and Darelle Decot.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by a brother, David Cannon; sister, Rema Ferguson and 4 brothers-in-law.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm with American Legion services at 4pm and Masonic Lodge services at 8pm on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio and from 12noon-1pm on Thursday at the church.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church, 126 South High Street, New Lexington, Ohio with Reverend Doug Widdowson officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington, Ohio.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 126 South High Street, New Lexington, Ohio 43764.
